AI Safety Funding · Issue #24, 2026

This newsletter lists new and closing-soon funding opportunities for addressing existential risk from AI. Visit AISafety.com/funding for the full list of funders in AI safety.

Newly announced

• BlueDot Impact: Seed Grants
Deadline: rolling
Funds the first 6–12 months of a new AI safety project or organization before it is ready for larger institutional funding. Includes introductions to follow-on funders.
Consider applying if: you’re starting a new project or org that you plan to grow into a team – your own idea or one from their list. Solo founders are welcome, and no legal entity is needed.

Closing in the next two weeks

• Corrigibility Research Fund
Deadline: 31 October
Awards grants and prizes for corrigibility research – aiming to ensure AI keeps humans informed and in control. Managed by Max Harms and housed at Lightcone Infrastructure.
Consider applying if: you need around $5k–$35k for corrigibility research that’s compatible with mainstream ML and useful to the people building AI systems. There’s no location or affiliation requirement.

• Foresight Institute
Deadline: 31 October
Foresight’s ‘AI for Science & Safety Nodes’ program offers funding, a community hub, and local compute in either San Francisco or Berlin.
Consider applying if: you're building alignment and oversight for a many-agent world, ways for humans to stay in control as more is delegated to AI, or independent AI-risk assessment – in person at the SF or Berlin node.
